Function ereg_replace() is deprecated

PHP Warning: Function ereg_replace() is deprecated. Now what?

This PHP-warning means the function still works but is replaced by a new one.
Eventually, the older function will disappear and therefor stop working.

ereg_replace() has been replaced by preg_replace()
The syntax changed a little too.

ereg_replace('[^a-z]+', "some text or nothing", $someString);

changed to

preg_replace('/[^a-z]+/', "some text or nothing", $someString);
