Shopp uses virtual pages to display the catalog, categories and products. How do you set your storefront to be your homepage?
After installing the Shopp plugin, your webshop is available at http://www.yourdomain.com/shop
When you try to set this page as static homepage, in WordPress admin -> Settings -> Reading, you will find there is no page named ‘Shop’ to select. This is due to Shopp using virtual pages instead of real pages.
Don’t worry though. You can still set your strorefront to be your homepage.
- Create a page the way you always do
- Name it something like ‘Shop’ or ‘Store’
- Enter an excerpt
- Enter [catalog] as content
- Save the page
Now that you have a real page, you can set it to be your homepage.
Before displaying the page, Shopp will catch the shortcode ( [catalog] ) and replace it with the content of your catalog.
You can add more text to the content than just the shortcode.
Text above the shortcode will be displayed at the top of the page, before your product listing.
Text below the shortcode will be displayed at the bottom of the page, after your product listing.
